When Sensei Wu told Cole about a new menace in the land of Ninjago, the ninja team is in a race against time to stop the skeleton army and their allies.

General Kruncha, a servant of the underworld king Samukai, gives the quest to obtain the Scythe of Quakes to his henchman Chopov. Unable to fulfill this quest himself, Chopov uses a contract wich makes the sinister Daimyo Sir Marcus Rodas have to fulfill a whish for Chopov. Meanwhile, the ninja team under the command of Cole is on their way to find the Scythe too. After discovering the other party searching for it, they realize their in a race against time.
